1-2: Hannover win against Freiburg

Hannover has won its first match of 2010 against Freiburg, direct rival in the fight for survival in a hard match, decided in 10 minutes. Arouna Koné, played the entire game and provided a chance to score the third goal for his team.

Mirko Slomka's team needed the victory to improve their position in the league table and especially against Freiburg, who after the match is bellow 96.

In first half, the chances for both teams succeeded: Cisse was the most dangerous man for local and Djakpa for visitors. The grass, too fast because the rain in the match, led quick chances for both teams, although that would be Hanover who carries the weight of the match.

The second half would be much more intense and showed the need for both teams to score and win the game. The pressure exerted by both teams resulted in dangerous chances, but the goal was wait until the 63rd minute when brazilian Elson scored 0-1 after a cross shot to the right of the goal from outside the area. Freiburg's reaction was swift and just seven minutes later, a move initiated by Makiadi in midfield, was topped in the area by Abdessadki after an assistance of Schuster. The goal did not undermined the morale of the 96 and only three minutes after, Hannover scored with an own goal by Cisse, involving the final 1-2. From that moment Hannover controlled the the game  and might even increase its lead after a fielder's Koné chance.

Hannover wins his first game and after 13 matchdays without it and shows a good feeling in a match outside the home, that could be considered a final. The team must make good the result next week against Eintrach, which currently holds the eighth place in the Bundesliga ranking.
