Sevilla is classified for the quarterfinals

The referee disallowed a legal goal to SevillaSevilla FC have qualified for the quarterfinals of the Copa del Rey Cup after losing by 0-1 tonight against FC Barcelona.

The match, which grew from Sevilla in the first half, began with a clear chance of Romaric after a corner. The grass was a little heavy by rain and did not allow a quick game. Pressure and sepeed by Sevilla caused failures in Barcelona defense, who was busy in midfield. Sevilla could advantage if the referee not disallowed a legal gol by Navas after a pass by Negredo, who steal the ball to an unsafe Pinto. Barcelona had few chances in the first half, always by distant shots.

The second half was different. Barcelona dominated and provided many opportunities that came primarily from the left side by an active Henry, but catalans would find an incredible Andrés Palop, who stopped almost shots. Despite the siege by Barcelona, Sevilla also had their chances: the referee again disallow a non-existent offside of Navas and in another chance, Puyol got the tip deflecting the ball to corner and preventing Negredo scored but before, Barcelona scored the only goal of the game. Xavi picked up a ball in the area socred on the right and giving hope to Barcelona that did not stop attacking until the last minute. Arouna, who was warming up the entire second half in the band, definitely did not come at the expense of Cala for the Seville might contain more of the ball in the final minutes.

In the end, Sevilla goes to the quarterfinals winning against Barcelona, who never lost a heat since 2008 and will face against Deportivo, currently fourth-placed in the regular league.
